ABOUT US

At Heron's Lea, we are committed to providing exceptional care where we deliver outstanding service to our residents who are at the heart of everything we do.

Heron’s Lea residential care home was founded In 1994 by Anita & Tim Dymond. It was originally a large former gentleman’s residence which needed lots of vision & hard work before our first resident joined the ‘family’.

In 1998, we added our first five bedroom extension & a large conservatory. Ten years on in 2018, we converted the conservatory roof to connect a large dining room and lounge. Our ethos is “A home from home”.

Since that time, we pride ourselves on providing high quality person centred care & have achieved ‘Outstanding’ in care, as part of our CQC inspection in April 2018. We believe in an individual and personal service so that is why at Herons Lea we are willing to go that extra mile in order to improve and sustain the overall quality of life of our residents.

We offer a family run service that is extremely passionate about positively improving the lives of those we care for. We strive to provide excellent care at an impeccably high standard whilst being respectful, attentive and flexible ensuring clients maintain as much of their privacy, independence and dignity as possible.

We pride ourselves on creating a positive, open and inclusive atmosphere throughout the home; where social activity is at the forefront of daily pursuits.

We believe a healthy & nutritious diet is essential so all our meals are home cooked from scratch by professional chefs using local fresh ingredients where possible.

Here at Herons Lea we pride ourselves on employing exceptional quality staff – Management, Care, Catering & House Keeping. Regular training is provided, & staff retention is also something we are very proud of. A good team is essential in order to operate a happy & efficient residential care home. Our staff give quality care and attention to every single person as our residents are at the heart of everything that we do.

Residential Care

Respite Care

There is nowhere quite like home but we aim to make our accommodation at Herons Lea an extension of home should you feel you might require a little more help. This includes providing a private room, nutritionally home cooked meals, housekeeping and personal assistance such as help with hygiene, bathing, medication management and access to GP services. There is a full activities program available in groups or on a 1-2-1 basis should you prefer. With company from other residents and staff we trust no one will feel isolated or alone.

We recognise that in many circumstances caregivers are with their loved ones 24/7. This is where respite care can really offer support, providing that much needed temporary rest so that the family caregiver can take a step back for a short period to take care of their own health needs, socialise with friends, even catch up on sleep or take a well-deserved holiday knowing their loved one is well-cared for.
